I joined Scout's Knit Mitt Kit Swap! Really looking forward to putting together a package for my partner! (and, of course, seeing what I get to play with, too!)


KSKS2 swap questionnaire:

What are your favorite colors? blues, pinks, browns. I really don't like bright colours, and orange is really not my friend.

Are you a new mitt knitter? How long have you been knitting mittens? Knitting them since last winter.

Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? Um, either. I love hand-dyed stuff the best.

What fibers do you prefer in mitten yarn? Anything natural. Wool is the warmest for Canadian winters. :)

Where do you usually knit mittens? At home, in front of the TV.

How do you usually carry/store small projects? Zippered plastic bag that originally had pillowcases in it. Hey, it works!

What are your favorite mitten patterns? Whatever one creates warm functional mittens

What are your favorite mitten knitting techniques? 2 circs...same as socks!

What new techniques would you like to try? Scandinavian mitts, I think. I've only done basic ones so far.

What are your favorite needles for knitting mittens? Addis. I have some Lantern Moon DPNs that I love, too.

What are some of your favorite yarns? Koigu, Socks That Rock, Malabrigo, DB Baby Cashmerino (hey, it knits up well, and feels soft, controversy aside...)

What yarn do you totally covet? Claudia's Handpainted or Vesper

Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object? The long Koigu coat (dunno its actual name)

Favorite kind of needles (brand, materials, straights or circs, etc)? Addi Turbo circs or Lantern Moon DPNs

If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be? Handmaiden Cashmere (pretty colours, and oh, so soft)

Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack? Mmmm. I love gummy candy or dark chocolate.

What’s your favorite animal? Cats, especially big ones (leopards and panthers and the like)

Would you prefer super warm mittens or something more like fingerless mitts? Super warm mittens (again, I'm Canadian!)

If you were a color what color would you be? True blue, baby!

What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature? I love orchids. I grow them in my apartment.

Do you have a wishlist? Not yet. Just the one in my head.

Anything else you’d like to share with the group today? This is my all-time favourite joke:

Two atoms were walking down the street one day.
The first atom turned to the second one and said "I think I've lost an electron".
The second one said "Oh, no! Are you sure?"
The first atom replied "Yeah, I'm positive."
